With Humphries and Jake Fisher both available, it was a bit of a shock that the Cincinnati Bengals opted to go after tackle Cedric Ogbuehi. Due to his injury, many felt that Ogbuehi could be available in the second round, instead the Bengals selected the tackle with the 21st pick overall.
The Bengals have Andrew Whitworth and Andre Smith inserted as starters, but both will be free agents after the 2015 season. With the selection of Ogbuehi, the Bengals are planning for the future. It’s not the most sexy pick, but it is one that speaks to the need to build for the future.
Assuming there are no injuries on the line this season, there is a chance Ogbuehi could see very little to no time in this season. That’s why this pick is a little intriguing. If Ogbuehi returns to form, this is a huge steal. If not, well that could be a dud.
