Michael Phelps Arrested for DUI is reporting that 18-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps has been arrested for driving under the influence Monday evening in Maryland.

The report indicates that Phelps was pulled over for going 84 mph in a 45 mph zone with a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit. 29-year old Phelps has been attempting a comeback into the world of Olympic swimming.

This latest law-breaking incident in Baltimore is not the first for Phelps. In 2004, Phelps was busted for driving under the influence as well. Then in 2009, a photo of Phelps smoking marijuana surfaced and subsequently made headlines.

Since 2009, the public micoscope has been on male athletes and their legal issues. With much demand for stricter penalties against law-breaking athletes surfacing, it will be interesting to see how this situation with arguably the greatest swimmer of all-time pans out.
