How does a franchise ensure that their star quarterback doesn’t repeat one of his worst seasons in his career? They draft someone to protect him. That is exactly what the New York Giants did by drafting offensive lineman Ereck Flowers from the University of Miami.
Flowers will immediately provide much needed protection for Manning in the passing game while opening up holes in the run game that were, at times, non-existent last season for the Giants. While many of us expected the Giants to address defensive needs, the selection of Flowers will go along way towards reloading that offense…and giving Manning time to get passes to one of the most electric players in the game – Odell Beckham, Jr.
