Team USA Needs a Minor Miracle

If you have been watching The Ryder Cup then you know Team USA needs a miracle to pull off a victory tomorrow. With a score of 10-6 in favor of Europe, Team USA needs 8.5 points to win the cup which means win 8 of the singles matches and tie another. Given our play the past two days, it is not looking good considering that Webb Simpson and Hunter Mahan have to play alone without a partner to back them up.

Another early morning (3AM) to watch Europe whoop our tails is not going to be fun but as a golf addict it is a must. I most certainly will be watching with optimism but deep down know it is probably not going to happen.  With fierce match play competitors like Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, Rory McIlroy, and Justin Rose it will be tough to snag 8.5 points from Team Europe on their own turf.

If I have noticed one thing about the golf so far it is that our teams could have been managed better. I realize Captain Tom Watson knows more than I do and has exponentially more experience but how can you not send out the dynamic duo of Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley in the afternoon fully rested!? Not only that move but having Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker play four rounds in a row seemed a bit questionable to me. What’s done is done and everything needs to go our way tomorrow for a chance at winning the cup back. The biggest deficit that a team has come back to win was 10-6 so it has been done before, SO YOU’RE TELLIN’ ME THERE’S A CHANCE!
